What are the Nutrition Patterns at 0-1 Years Old?

1. Breastfeeding alone

The most valuable group. In this type of feeding, the baby receives only breast milk. Nothing is provided as an extra, including water. Only necessary vitamin supplements are given.

2. Predominant breastfeeding

Breast milk is used as the main food source, but water, watery drinks and herbal teas are also given. Experts do not recommend this diet. The fact that the baby receives only breast milk in the first months gives him many advantages in his future life.

3. Mixed feeding

In mixed feeding, additional formula is given because breast milk is not enough for the baby. The formulas closest to the composition of breast milk are selected.

4. The period of starting complementary foods

In babies with sufficient breast milk, supplementary foods are started to be added with milk after the 6th month to meet the needs of the child. When choosing these formulas, try to choose those with prebiotic content, which is also in breast milk.

  • We said that breast milk basically covers everything in infant feeding. At 6 months, you need to switch to a nutrition program that is no longer in breast milk and will meet your little one’s need for vitamins and fiber found in foods in nature.
  • Since the meals you will offer your baby will be in small quantities at first, you can supplement her nutrition with breast milk or formula. 
  • Introduce breast milk or formula after solids. Thus, it will give more positive results if you try solid food with a spoon when your baby is hungry and interested.
  • Continue to feed your little one at intervals of 2.5-3 hours at 5 and 6 months, and at intervals of 3-4 hours at 7 months and thereafter. Formula-fed babies get hungry later.

Vegetable puree (6 month baby feeding)

  • Cook on low heat for 20 minutes until all the vegetables are tender.
  • Puree the boiled vegetables by mashing them to a soft consistency with a fork.

Highland soup (7 month old baby feeding)

¾ cup of yogurt
1 glass of water
1 tablespoon of rice
1 teaspoon flour
1 tablespoon of olive oil

Preparation of:

  • Sort the rice, wash it, boil it with water and leave it to cool.
  • Crush 1 teaspoon of flour in water and mix it with ¾ cup of yogurt.
  • Add the boiled rice and 1 glass of water to this mixture and let it cook.
  • After cooking, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Grilled meatballs (8 month old baby feeding)

From the 8th month of your baby, you can give it by crushing it with a fork.

2 small bell peppers or 1 medium sweet red pepper
1 small zucchini
60 gr. lean ground lamb or beef
½ coffee cup of rice
¼ small onion
1 clove of garlic
1 pinch of parsley and mint
½ medium tomato
2 teaspoons of olive oil
300 ml. su

Preparation of:

  • Empty the bell peppers. Clean the inside of the red peppers as well.
  • Cut the zucchini in half and hollow out.
  • Wash and drain the rice.
  • Grate the tomato.
  • Finely chop the onion and garlic.
  • Mix the ground beef with rice, onion, olive oil, tomatoes, parsley and optionally mint.
  • Stuff the peppers and zucchini with the stuffing. Cover them with a slice of peeled tomato. Add water, cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
  • Peel the stuffed peppers before feeding them to your baby. You can crush the amount of stuffing you want with a fork and feed it to your baby.

Minced Spinach (10 month baby feeding)

You can make minced spinach when your baby is 9-12 months old. Cooking time is 20 minutes, add it to your winter recipes with pleasure!

1 small bunch of spinach or chard
1 small onion
1 small carrot
80 gr. lean ground beef
1 tablespoon of rice
1 tablespoon of olive oil

Preparation of:

  • After soaking the spinach and chard leaves in 1-2 teaspoons of vinegar water, wash and chop them one by one.
  • Chop the carrot into cubes.
  • Finely chop the onion and garlic.
  • Saute the onion with the carrot in olive oil. Add minced meat on it and mash the minced meat with a wooden spoon and cook with onions and carrots for 1-2 minutes.
  • Next, add the spinach or chard, then the rice and water and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
  • You can easily feed your baby by mashing the minced spinach with a fork.

Italian meatballs (11 month old baby feeding)

You can continue to spoon food in your baby’s 11 month feeding period. Since the baby has grown, you can give it by mashing with a fork from the cooked meals at home. You can start giving breakfasts one by one.

Italian meatballs is a recipe that you can make for your little one in summer and winter. It is both practical and delicious with its 20-minute cooking time.

50 gr. lean ground beef
1 small potato
2 shallots
1 clove of garlic
2 medium tomatoes
1 pinch of dried basil

Preparation of:

  • Boil the potato, mash it with a fork and mash it.

Steamed fish (12 month baby feeding)

  • It can easily eat omelet, toast, pancakes, oats, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, butter, cream and healthy breads.
